XRF assay and the LBMA spot price

Our valuation rests on two things: an accurate measure of what your gold actually is, and a fair, public benchmark for what it's worth. We assay every item by X-ray fluorescence (XRF), a non-destructive method used by professional refiners, which tells us the precise carat without relying on hallmarks.

We then value your gold against the daily London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) spot price, paying a transparent percentage of spot by weight and purity. Today's per-gram rates for 9ct to 24ct are shown in the table above, so you can estimate your return before you send anything.

FAQ

Find the answer to your questions and submit your request

What is an XRF assay?

X-ray fluorescence is a non-destructive test that measures the exact metal content of an item. It's how we confirm carat accurately, even without hallmarks.

What is the LBMA spot price?

The London Bullion Market Association sets the internationally recognised daily benchmark price for gold. We base our offers on it for transparency.

What percentage of spot do you pay?

A transparent percentage that depends on the amount and purity, always shown to you before you accept. Larger amounts attract better rates.

Can I estimate my gold's value first?

Yes. Use today's per-gram rates in the table above with the weight and carat of your gold to get a good estimate before sending.
