What counts as scrap gold?

Broken chains, single earrings, bent rings, snapped clasps, old dental gold and mixed odds and ends are all fine. You don't need to sort or clean anything, and you don't need hallmarks, our XRF assay measures the real gold content of each piece.

We value scrap gold by weight and purity against the daily LBMA spot price, so a tangled, mismatched lot is assessed just as accurately as a single clean item. Mixed carats are welcome; we separate and weigh by purity.

FAQ

What counts as scrap gold?

Any gold item you no longer want: broken or tangled jewellery, single earrings, bent or damaged pieces, and mixed lots. Condition doesn't matter because we value by gold content, not appearance.

Do you pay for gold-plated items?

No. Gold-plated or rolled-gold items contain only a microscopic layer of gold and have no scrap value. Our XRF assay will identify plating.

Is there a minimum weight?

No minimum. Send what you have and we'll assay and weigh it. The pack, postage and valuation are free.

Can I mix different carats together?

Yes. Send everything together and we separate it by purity, assay each group by XRF and price each at the correct percentage of spot.
